Credit & Collections Manager

The Credit & Collections Manager is responsible for the credit granting process, periodic credit reviews of existing global customers and the assessment of the creditworthiness of new customers as well as for the collection of the US receivables. He/she is working closely together with Sales Controller, Regional Controllers, Sales Representatives.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Evaluate Creditworthiness: Analyze customer financial statements, credit reports (e.g., Dun & Bradstreet, Experian), and trade references to determine credit risk for new and existing accounts.
• Establish Credit Limits: Approve or deny credit applications and set appropriate credit limits and terms based on the company's risk policy.
• Policy Development: Manage, execute and continuously update the corporate credit and A/R policy to adapt to changing market conditions and economic environments.
• Risk Mitigation: Implement risk mitigation tools such as letters of credit, guarantees, payment in advance, etc. for high-risk accounts.
• Drive Cash Flow: Oversee the entire collections process to ensure timely payment of invoices and actively manage the Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) metric for the North-American region. This will include pro-active communication with customers.
• Be a partner for the sales organization while balancing risk and sales opportunities.
• Manage relations and coordinate with sales, collectors and other internal stakeholders to ensure a minimum of customer issues.
• Manage system(s), controls and reporting needed to perform the job efficiently and keep management informed.
• Provide (and further develop) periodic reporting and analysis (aging, overdue, DSO, cash flow, bad debt, risk exposure, etc.) to leadership.
• Communicate and build a working relationship with customers and at the same time ensure they pay on time and negotiate payment plans where required.
• Release orders in JD Edwards in line with policies.
• Travel, up to 20% to offsite locations

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in finance or related field;
• Minimum of 5-7 years working experience in credit management for a company with international presence.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Be able to work successfully with internal and external customers including sales, marketing, accounting and clients.
• Hands-on attitude.
