The ideal candidate will demonstrate both legal proficiency and strategic insight, while also being capable of independently managing cases through trial.ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage a caseload of construction litigation matters, including NY Labor Law claims, from inception through resolution or trialHandle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearancesCollaborate with partners and team members on case strategy and complex legal issuesCommunicate regularly with clients, providing timely updates, legal analysis, and strategic recommendationsEnsure compliance with court deadlines, procedural requirements, and firm standardsUtilize legal research tools and case management systems effectivelyQualificationsJD from an ABA-accredited law schoolActive membership in good standing with the New York State Bar7+ years of proven Labor Law construction experienceExperience with insurance defense, premises liability, and general liability mattersDemonstrated experience as first and/or second chair strongly desired.Advanced understanding of NY Construction Law (Labor Law §§200, 240, 241), preferredExperience with OSHA proceedings and regulatory compliance is a plusStrong organizational and case management abilitiesProficiency with legal research platforms and case management softwareWilson Elser offers a competitive salary and benefits package designed to support our attorneys both professionally and personally.A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.
