School Custodian

Floyd County Head Start is looking to expand our awesome custodial staff to keep our school clean and safe for children, staff, and parents! SCHEDULE Monday-Thursday 10AM-7PM 49 weeks (3 weeks off per year unpaid, one in October, one in December, and one in July) 9 hours per day, 36 hours per week worked, paid for 40 Some Fridays (4 hours only) required throughout the school year for training/all staff meetings SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Work with other custodial staff to provide a safe and clean environment for children, staff and parents. Organize and maintain all storage and work areas in a safe and orderly fashion and assist in recording custodial inventory supply amounts. Perform cleaning duties including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing surfaces. Perform basic maintenance/repair duties as needed including but not limited to changing light bulbs, assembling furniture, fixing broken classroom furniture. Organize and prioritize work to be completed using a provided cleaning schedule. Ensuring all cleaning supplies and hazardous materials are locked and out of children's reach. Maintain required yearly professional development hours as required by childcare licensing. Other related duties as assigned by Safety Compliance Manager. QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES) Custodial training or experience (preferred) Minimum of High school diploma or GED (required) Physically able to operate all equipment necessary and perform all tasks as outlined Experience working with/around small children (preferred) Good communication skills Ability to be flexible and work as a member of a cooperative team #J-18808-Ljbffr
