ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead plant-level capital, facility, and manufacturing improvement projects from concept through implementation and closeout
This is a highly hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys being on the manufacturing floor, working directly with operators and maintenance teams, solving production challenges, and turning ideas into practical solutions
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will manage projects focused on improving safety, quality, productivity, reliability, cost, and ease of use for operators
You will be responsible for project scope, budgeting, scheduling, equipment design and installation, contractor coordination, commissioning, documentation, and overall project execution.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Lead manufacturing, facility, and capital improvement projects from concept through completion
Develop project scopes, objectives, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements
Manage capital expenditures and ensure projects remain within approved budgets
Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and work directly with operators and maintenance personnel to identify opportunities and resolve production issues
Engage employees at all levels to gather feedback, develop solutions, and drive continuous improvement
Provide hands-on support for equipment installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and production optimization
Evaluate and recommend equipment modifications, upgrades, and new technologies to improve manufacturing performance and reduce downtime
Coordinate contractors, suppliers, maintenance personnel, Corporate Engineering, and other resources as needed
Identify project resources and develop business justifications for capital investments
Ensure engineering designs comply with applicable local, state, and federal codes, standards, regulations, and company requirements
Prioritize multiple projects, schedules, and deliverables while building consensus across teams
Develop and maintain complete project documentation, including: Equipment manuals; SOPs; Training materials; Electrical and mechanical drawings; Spare parts lists; Validation records; Project closeout documentation
Provide project status updates, capital spending reports, and milestone reviews to plant leadership and key stakeholders
Identify and implement new manufacturing technologies, equipment, and processes that improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost performance
Provide support to plant operations and maintenance as needed
Perform other duties as required

WHAT YOU BRING:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
At least 5+ years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience
Experience leading manufacturing or capital projects
Experience with project management and/or purchasing production capital equipment
Experience working with or supporting custom manufacturing equipment
Experience in an active manufacturing environment
At least 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred
AutoCAD experience preferred
Ability to travel as needed for project milestones

Apply data-driven problem-solving techniques to improve manufacturing performance
Translate technical concepts into practical solutions for the shop floor
Understand technical proposals and reports and communicate recommendations effectively
Present technical information to small groups and diverse audiences
Work effectively with operators, maintenance teams, contractors, suppliers, engineers, and leadership
Influence change through collaboration, employee engagement, and teamwork rather than relying solely on formal authority
Balance engineering expertise with practical manufacturing applications
Demonstrate strong ownership and accountability for project results
Communicate clearly and professionally at all levels of the organization
Work comfortably with computers, manufacturing systems, databases, machinery, and related equipment
