Litigator / Practicing Attorney (US)

Role Overview

Apply your litigation experience to improve next-generation AI systems at the intersection of law and emerging technology. You will use real-world legal judgment to evaluate and strengthen AI-generated legal work. No prior AI experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, refine, and improve AI-generated legal content, including briefs, arguments, and memoranda.
• Assess outputs for factual and legal accuracy, analytical rigor, and compliance with professional standards.
• Provide detailed written feedback on errors, logical inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve legal responses.
• Apply expert judgment to ambiguous and complex edge cases, helping calibrate models on nuanced legal issues.
• Draft or edit sample legal language and arguments across varied litigation and practice scenarios.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a cross-functional project team, incorporate iterative feedback, and communicate clearly in writing.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school and an active license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 3 to 15 years of post-JD legal experience, preferably as a trial, appellate, or litigation specialist.
• Strong legal reasoning, litigation and practice expertise, analytical rigor, legal writing, and precise professional communication.
• Ability to assess ambiguous cases and apply sound judgment to complex legal questions.
• Federal or state judicial clerkship experience, at the trial or appellate level, is highly valued.
• Law journal editing experience or published legal authorship is a plus.
• Substantial trial experience, federal court admissions, or appellate practice experience strengthens candidacy.
• Legal education teaching experience, including law school faculty, adjunct, lecturer, or fellow roles, is desirable.

Work Terms

• Independent contractor engagement.
• Remote work, open only to candidates located in the United States.

Compensation

$100 to $150 per hour.
