Business Analyst Business Analysis/Project Management

Join a modernization initiative as a Business Analyst supporting regulatory systems and digital workflow improvements. In this contract role, you'll lead business process analysis, requirements discovery, and workflow mapping—translating operational needs into actionable technology requirements while helping maximize existing Salesforce and Microsoft Power Apps investments.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with agency staff to learn, analyze, and document existing business processes and workflows
• Develop current-state and future-state process maps that identify gaps, bottlenecks, risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities
• Lead requirements discovery and translate business needs into clear technical requirements and functional specifications
• Serve as a primary liaison between business-side staff, enterprise IT, and third-party managed services partners
• Propose efficient technology solutions that maximize existing Salesforce and Microsoft Power Apps investments
• Develop and/or support UAT plans, scenarios, scripts, and acceptance criteria
• Coordinate UAT activities with business and technical teams, track defects, document results, and support issue resolution and retesting
• Confirm delivered functionality meets approved requirements and business expectations prior to implementation
• Conduct system demonstrations, user walkthroughs, and knowledge-transfer sessions to support adoption
• Collect post-implementation feedback and support reviews to identify additional improvement opportunities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Proven expertise in business process mapping, workflow modeling, and structured requirements gathering
• Demonstrated experience working with Salesforce and/or Microsoft Power Apps environments
• Strong hands-on understanding of Salesforce capabilities (objects, fields, page layouts, basic automation) and Power Apps components
• Strong background managing relationships across internal business units, corporate IT, and external vendors
• Proficiency with process-mapping software (Lucidchart, Visio, and/or Miro)
• Familiarity with Agile project management tools
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Collaborative, proactive, and patient approach to navigating government environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working within a government or public sector environment
• Professional experience or domain knowledge in cannabis licensing and regulation
• Salesforce Certified Business Analyst (or equivalent credential)
