Desktop Support Technician - Contract

Location: Onsite (5 days/week to start)

Hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Schedule: Occasional weekend work and overtime may be required. After training, there may be opportunities for remote work depending on business needs.



Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Desktop Support Technician to join an exciting, fast-paced organization. This is a hands-on role supporting end users with desktop deployments, hardware setup, troubleshooting, and day-to-day IT operations. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who enjoys solving problems, works well in a dynamic environment, and is eager to learn.



Responsibilities

• Image and deploy computers
• Set up and configure user workstations
• Provide Audio/Visual (AV) support
• Ship, receive, and inventory computer equipment
• Move and install IT equipment as needed
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and end-user issues
• Support day-to-day desktop and IT operations
• Mac & PC experience

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Microsoft Azure - plus if have done provisioning, user management, or general Azure administration. Ideally must have some exposure.
• Entra ID (Azure AD) OR AD
• Microsoft 365 Administration preferred , including:
  • Exchange Online
  • Microsoft 365 Admin Center
  • SharePoint
• Strong desktop support and troubleshooting experience
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
• If have not done AV open to learn it

Certifications
At least one of the following certifications is preferred:

• CompTIA A+
• Network+
• Security+
• Microsoft Azure Certification a huge plus

ITIL certification is a strong plus.

Education

• Bachelor's degree (4-year degree) is a big plus

Job Summary:
You will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance and support for our organization's end-users. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in both End-User support and desktop support, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and be dedicated to delivering top-notch customer service .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.

• End-User Support:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for Tricon end-users seeking technical assistance through various channels (phone, email, in-person).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
• Remote Troubleshooting:
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve technical problems.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Problem Resolution:
  • nalyze user problems and provide accurate and timely solutions.
  • Guide users through step-by-step solutions and offer proactive advice for preventing future issues.
• Incident Management:
  • Document, track, and monitor incidents to ensure timely resolution.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate IT support teams when necessary.
• Software and Hardware Maintenance:
  • Install, configure, and update software applications.
  • Perform hardware upgrades, replacements, and maintenance.
• User Training:
  • Provide basic training to end-users on IT systems, applications, and best practices.
• IT Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, configurations, and user support activities.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with other IT teams to address complex issues and improve overall system performance.
  • Communicate effectively with end-users, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
• sset and Hardware Management:
  • Track and manage IT assets and hardware inventory.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Project Involvement:
  • Participate in various projects aimed at improving IT system processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements and upgrades.
• Multi-Office Support:
  • Travel to different offices, as needed, to provide comprehensive IT support.
  • Ensure consistent service delivery and technical assistance across all office locations.

Education and Certification Requirements:

• BS/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or similar are a plus.
