Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked national law firm seeking a 3rd to 4th year Corporate Transactions Associate to join its Chicago office.

This is a transactional role focused on mergers and acquisitions and related corporate work for sophisticated clients. The position is designed for an associate who is ready to take meaningful ownership of workstreams while partnering closely with senior attorneys through signing and closing.

The firm offers a well established corporate platform with a team oriented, partner led approach. The Chicago team works in a fully in office schedule with regular in person collaboration.

The Opportunity

You will support M and A matters across the deal lifecycle, including due diligence, drafting and negotiating ancillary transaction documents, coordinating specialist inputs, and assisting with closing processes and post closing deliverables. The practice also advises on broader corporate and commercial issues that arise in the context of acquisitions and strategic transactions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The firm is seeking a 3rd to 4th year Corporate Transactions Associate with:

• 3 to 4 years of transactional experience with meaningful exposure to mergers and acquisitions work
• Experience drafting and negotiating transaction documents and managing due diligence processes
• Excellent academic credentials
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style with internal teams and clients
• Active bar admission in Illinois or Georgia
