Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Special Care Nursery or Level II License: Must have appropriate nursing licensure in hand Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE Must-Have: Charge experience is required Preceptor experience is required Delivery room experience is required Description: The role involves working in a Special Care Nursery. Experience with neonates is required. The nurse will float to postpartum for baby care assignments. Working every other weekend is mandatory. Scrubs will be provided. Assist with circumcision and assess the site post-op. Educate parents on car seat safety and discharge instructions. Provide care for infants with conditions such as low birth weight and neonatal abstinence syndrome. Monitor and maintain IVs as needed. Perform phototherapy and metabolic screening. Administer vaccines and manage thermoregulation for newborns. Teach circumcision care to parents. Experience in a delivery room is essential for this position. Nurses must be comfortable with a variety of patient care scenarios in the nursery setting.
