About the Role:
Can-am Manufacturing Inc is looking for a motivated Machine Shop Apprentice to join our team in Valencia, CA! Responsibilities:
- Assist machinists with the setup and operation of CNC and manual machine tools
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications
- Perform basic machining operations including turning, milling, drilling, and grinding
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with shop standards
- Support inventory management and assist with material handling and staging
- Follow quality control procedures to ensure parts meet required tolerances and specifications
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational or trade school coursework a plus
- Basic mechanical aptitude and a strong desire to learn precision machining
- Ability to read basic blueprints or willingness to learn technical drawing interpretation
- Familiarity with hand tools and measuring instruments preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team-oriented shop environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
