Tier 2 It Support TechnicianPeraton is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tier 2 IT Support Technician to provide onsite and remote technical support for a federal government customer. The successful candidate will support mission-critical systems and end users in a secure classified environment, ensuring continuity of operations and exceptional customer service.This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, experience supporting enterprise IT environments, and the ability to work effectively within classified and regulated operational environments.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide Tier 2 deskside and remote desktop support for end users in classified and unclassified environmentsTroubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and peripheral issuesPerform installation, configuration, imaging, deployment, and maintenance of desktop and laptop systemsSupport account maintenance activities including password resets, account unlocks, permissions, and group membership changesConfigure, troubleshoot, and maintain printers and other endpoint peripheralsCoordinate and execute user workstation relocations and office movesMaintain accurate inventory records for classified and non-classified IT assetsManage lifecycle tracking of IT equipment including procurement recommendations, replacement planning, excess processing, and end-of-life (EOL) dispositionTest and evaluate desktop hardware and peripherals to support standardization and modernization initiativesEnsure compliance with federal security policies, configuration standards, and operational proceduresDocument technical issues, resolutions, and support activities within ticketing systemsEscalate complex issues to Tier 3 engineering teams when requiredProvide excellent customer support while operating in a high-security, mission-focused environmentRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent experience may be substituted5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD, 9 years with a HS DiplomaExperience supporting Windows desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office productsExperience with desktop imaging and deployment technologiesFamiliarity with Active Directory account administration and group policy conceptsExperience troubleshooting printers, desktop hardware, and peripheral devicesStrong understanding of IT asset inventory management and lifecycle processesExperience supporting users in classified or regulated environments preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentActive TS/SCI or Q/SCI clearancePreferred QualificationsPrior experience supporting Department of EnergyFamiliarity with DOE, DoD, or IC cybersecurity and operational requirementsExperience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or RemedyKnowledge of endpoint management and enterprise deployment toolsExperience with secure handling procedures for classified systems and equipmentPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
