RN Birth Center

Job Summary:

The Birth Center Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care in labor and delivery, postpartum, gynecological, surgical, and medical overflow patient management. This role includes newborn care, breastfeeding support, and neonatal resuscitation following NRP guidelines. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities:

• Manage and provide care for labor and delivery patients with at least 3 years of experience in this specialty.
• Care for postpartum, gynecological, surgical, and medical overflow patients.
• Provide newborn care including assistance with breastfeeding and infant nutrition.
• Perform neonatal resuscitation in accordance with Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Lift and transfer patients or equipment up to 50 lbs as required.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Oregon State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 3 years labor and delivery nursing experience.
• Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Strong clinical skills in postpartum, gynecological, surgical, and medical patient care.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
• National certification in lactation or perinatal nursing.

Special Considerations:

• May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work environment includes labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care settings.

Scheduling:

• Variable shift schedule as assigned.
