Lead Principal Network Developer (Architecture & Engineering)

Salary: $142,000 - 194,000 per year Requirements:

• Serve as a technical authority in network products engineering and build strong partnerships across engineering, operations, supply chain, manufacturing, finance, and product teams.
• Be comfortable driving alignment and delivering outcomes through influence, without direct authority.
• Bring deep industry knowledge and expertise, and maintain awareness of emerging technologies, trends, and standards.

• Guide the design, development, validation, and optimization of advanced network fabrics and systems for large-scale cloud, data center, and enterprise environments.
• Set architectural direction and contribute to network product strategy, identifying and mitigating complex design risks before deployment.
• Lead collaboration with vendors and internal teams to validate firmware, software, configurations, and network solutions, and resolve critical defects.
• Create playbooks for complex, high-impact network issues and improve network processes for greater efficiency.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks, scripts, infrastructure pipelines, dashboards, telemetry, and alerting systems for testing and network operations.
• Improve network testing and quality practices by enhancing test cases, defining test strategies, and standardizing pre-production qualification processes.
• Lead break-fix validation, post-incident root cause analysis, change management reviews, and internal auditing activities; provide data and walkthroughs for governance, risk, and compliance reviews.
• Establish monitoring practices, metrics, and thresholds to track network health and service level objectives, and provide technical support during critical incidents.
• Improve incident handoffs, accountability, and closure, and develop tools that help frontline teams respond efficiently to network failures.
• Coordinate with project and program managers on critical testing and deployment milestones, and align roadmaps across teams and projects.
• Mentor colleagues across functions, share subject matter expertise, and lead responses to high-visibility incidents and delivery of root cause analysis findings.
• Analyze network performance and service metrics, forecast capacity needs, and develop designs and white papers to support future demand and organizational change.
• Direct timelines, deliverables, and budgets for high-impact initiatives, adapting plans as business priorities and resource needs change.
• Lead advanced problem-solving efforts, resolve complex escalations, identify root causes, and implement preventive solutions.
• Promote continuous learning and improvement by sharing knowledge, monitoring industry developments, mentoring others, and implementing more effective processes and workflows.
