Hatchet Hall is seeking an experienced Floor/Service Manager to join our expanding team. We require a candidate with a minimum of 2 years of management experience in fine dining service and/or high volume casual fine dining. The ideal candidate should:
- Have a basic understanding of CA labor law(s).
- Be proficient in excel.
- Be proficient in basic POS operations, and possess a thorough knowledge of how a restaurant operates in its most essential form.
- Must understand that managing employees requires proactivity and assistance rather than micro-management.
Schedule:
- The candidate will work a scheduled 5 shifts per week with a mix of opening and closing shifts subject to business needs.
- In the event of an emergency call out, the candidate must be willing and able to work a section as a server.
Baseline duties will include:
- Front of house new hire training, continued training post-hiring.
- Monthly inventory CGS.
- Opening and closing the restaurant.
- Assisting in private dinners held in the PDR.
- The candidate will oversee the training of staff to work private dinners and ensure that any issues or improvements to the service of the PDR are detailed in notes post-events/weekly.
- Additionally, the candidate will supervise Hatchet Hall; however, will also be expected to help with Old Man Bar in the event of a last-minute issue or emergency.
- Must be aware of the basic operational systems of OMB, such as bank change, end slips, tip log entry, and menu printing.
Skills:
- The successful candidate should possess excellent communication and leadership skills, be able to work under pressure, and maintain high standards of service quality.
- Bartending and spirits knowledge will be plus and highly considered for this position.
