**Company :** Allegheny Health Network **Job Description :** **There are (2) positions available** **GENERAL OVERVIEW:** Provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the Prehospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of Emergency Medical Care. **ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Drives emergency or response vehicle. (20%) + Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting. (50%) + Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%) + Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%) + Performs other duties as assigned or required. **QUALIFICATIONS:** Minimum + High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience + For Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years' relevant experience and current preceptor status + Medical Command eligible + PA certification as Paramedic or licensed PHRN + Valid Driver's License + EMSVO within 30 days of hire + ACLS within 30 days of hire + ITLS/PHTLS within 2 months of hire + PALS within 30 days of hire + CPR - American Heart Association + Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate + Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate + Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Preferred + Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician.
