We are seeking Lead Teachers for our classrooms. For our Lead Teacher for Infants, you must have at least 1 year experience in an infant classroom to apply.

The Goddard School® of Greenpoint, located at 85 Commercial Street, Brooklyn, NY 11222 is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team for infants/toddlers and preschoolers. Our School is a newly built, state-of-the-art, one-story, 10,000-square-foot learning environment designed with children and educators in mind. Compensation : $20-$30 per hour, based on education and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum and Instruction: Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities using Goddard’s Wonder of Learning® curriculum.
• Classroom Management: Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment. Create engaging activities that support cognitive, physical, and language development. Balance structured teaching and play-based learning. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment. 
• Family Communication: Maintain open, effective and positive communication with families and guardians about their child’s progress and daily activities. 
• Health and Safety: Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to uphold health and safety standards, licensing regulations and ensure their well-being
• Professional Development: Participate actively in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching skills
• Assessment and Documentation: Observe, assess and document children’s learning and development to inform activities and share insights with families
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with school leadership and team members to support classroom quality and school-wide initiatives.

 
Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher in early childhood education 
• Experience working in an early childhood classroom preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development, play-based learning, and developmentally appropriate practice.
• Ability to create engaging lesson plans and manage a classroom with confidence and care.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet all licensing, health, and safety requirements for the role.
