Registered Nurse Clinical Decision Unit

Methodist Hospital, part of SA Health and a leading healthcare provider in San Antonio, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Clinical Decision Unit. In this fast‑paced, patient‑centered environment, you will provide high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to patients requiring short‑stay observation, further evaluation, or complex discharge planning. As a key member of our Healthcare & Medical Services team, you will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, and closely monitor patient responses while collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, case management, and ancillary teams to support safe and timely disposition decisions. The Registered Nurse in the Clinical Decision Unit will utilize strong clinical judgment to identify changes in patient condition, rapidly intervene according to established protocols, and elevate concerns as needed. You will interpret diagnostic results, coordinate necessary testing and consultations, and provide clear, compassionate communication to patients and families regarding care plans, expectations, and discharge instructions. Using our electronic medical record system, you will document thoroughly and accurately, ensuring continuity of care and compliance with regulatory and hospital standards.
