Meat & Seafood Manager

Be part of something new! Healthy Living is opening a new store in Clifton Park and is seeking an experienced Meat & Seafood Manager to help launch and lead our department from day one.

This hands-on leadership role is responsible for all Meat & Seafood operations, including product quality, merchandising, ordering, inventory, and compliance with food safety standards. You'll ensure fresh, high-quality product while maintaining strong sales and efficient department performance. You'll also lead and develop your team through hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management, building a culture of accountability and excellence.

Job Type: Department Manager Schedule: Full-Time, evenings, weekends, and holidays required Pay: $27-$30/hour (previous experience taken into consideration)

Requirements

• 2+ years of retail meat/seafood experience
• 2+ years of management, or progressive supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of meat cuts, breaking down primal cuts of meat, and knife skills
• Understanding of health & sanitation standards
• Ability to order effectively and manage inventory systems
• Leadership and communication skills to build a productive, motivated team
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and early mornings as needed
• Familiarity with local sourcing and sustainable food practices is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Meat & Seafood department
• Completes replenishment ordering for all vendors in designated departments and/or categories
• Train, coach, and support department staff and meat cutters
• Maintain high standards in food safety, cleanliness, and compliance
• Ensure proper product merchandising, display building, and signage
• Provide exceptional guest service, including special orders and education
• Collaborate with vendors, farmers, and internal teams to keep products fresh, local, and well-stocked
• Participate in hiring, scheduling, reviews, and ongoing staff development
