Director of Accounting

Candidate RequirementsTechnical Qualifications• Experience: At least 3 years in public accounting; CPA is preferred but not mandatory.• Systems: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks Online (QBO); all schools and parishes use QBO.• Audit Skills: Ability to conduct, document, and report on audit procedures, including issuing follow-up letters to parish/school leadership.Soft Skills and Attributes• Independence: Must work effectively with minimal supervision.• Professionalism: Ability to interact with parish and school leaders (often busy and sensitive to interruptions).• Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building with pastors and principals; auditors are often met with resistance.• Religious Affiliation: Practicing Catholic strongly preferred (listed as a requirement in the job description) for smoother integration and understanding of the environment.• Adaptability: Able to navigate different business office structures (some internal, some outsourced accounting).
