Purchasing Specialist

Talascend is currently seeking a Purchasing Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Chandler, Arizona .


Overview


This role involves performing tasks related to the formation and administration of purchase orders, including preparing bidders' lists, qualifying bidders, issuing bid requests, participating in negotiations, and monitoring supplier performance. The position is part-time telework, requiring at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project in Chandler, AZ.


Responsibilities

• Prepares bidders' lists and qualifies bidders
• Communicates with engineering to assist in material requisition preparation
• Forms bid packages and issues bid requests, coordinates bidder questions, and receives bids
• Prepares commercial bid summaries and recommendations to award
• Communicates with suppliers and internal personnel to define requirements and ensure performance
• Identifies, defines, and secures agreement on purchase order changes
• Processes purchase order revisions to establish scope, cost, and schedule impacts
• Maintains control and status reporting documents for purchase orders
• Monitors supplier performance for conformance to terms and conditions
• Coordinates activities with engineering and other in-house functions to ensure compliance
• Initiates follow-up actions to ensure supplier performance
• Analyzes and distributes supplier reports as specified in the order or contract

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience, or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
• Experience preparing and issuing purchase orders, managing bids, and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to monitor supplier performance and manage order revisions
• Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
