Job Title: 1st Shift Mechanical Assembler $25/HR

Job Description

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for completing mechanical builds and operations according to prints and sales orders throughout the manufacturing process. This role involves working from detailed documentation and instructions to assemble mechanical and electrical components, supporting production schedules, and ensuring materials and paperwork move efficiently through the facility to finished stores.

Responsibilities

• Complete mechanical builds and assembly operations to print and sales order requirements throughout the manufacturing process.
• Work from operation sheets, assembly books, blueprints, wire lists, shop travelers, rework and repair directives, computer-generated instructions, and other written and verbal guidance.
• Perform mechanical assembly and electrical assembly tasks using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Braze copper joints for refrigerator circuits following established procedures and quality standards.
• Generate, maintain, and follow material pull lists and assembly floor schedules to support on-time production.
• Move materials and associated paperwork through the manufacturing process to finished stores while maintaining accurate status records.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to assemble components.
• Interpret and follow blueprints and assembly drawings to ensure correct build and configuration.
• Support rework and repair activities as directed to meet quality and performance standards.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 2 years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Minimum 2 years of electrical assembly experience.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, wire lists, operation sheets, and other technical documentation.
• Proficiency in mechanical assembly techniques and practices.
• Proficiency in electrical assembly techniques and basic electrical component handling.
• Ability to braze copper joints for refrigerator circuits.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools for assembly work.
• Skilled in the use of power tools for assembly work.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Capability to generate, maintain, and follow material pull lists and assembly floor schedules.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working on an assembly line in a large manufacturing facility.
• Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical components.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to maintain accurate status records and documentation throughout the assembly process.
• Willingness and ability to work different shifts, including first and second shift, as needed.
• Reliability in attendance and performance to support growth and advancement opportunities.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large manufacturing facility with structured assembly operations. First shift typically runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the option to work four 10-hour days where available. Second shift typically runs from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and includes a shift premium, also with the potential for four 10-hour days. The environment involves regular use of hand tools and power tools, working from blueprints and technical documentation, and moving materials through the production floor. The facility operates in a production-focused setting where adherence to schedules and safe work practices is essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Berlin, WI.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in New Berlin,WI.
