Compliance & Governance Specialist

Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in office required) We’re looking for a Regional Governance & Compliance Specialist to join our Dallas team and take ownership of governance across US client onboarding and the placement lifecycle. Working closely with our Dallas Sales and Legal teams, active US clients and our wider Finance Operations and Governance & Compliance functions, you’ll play an important role in making sure client and placement requirements are properly understood, accurately captured and operationally workable. You’ll be involved from the point a new client or placement is handed over by Sales, making sure we have everything needed for contracting, payroll, billing, invoicing and compliance. Where requirements are unusual or difficult to facilitate, you’ll work with the relevant teams and clients to understand what is needed and find a practical solution. You’ll also provide ongoing governance once placements are live, including compliance, purchase orders, supplier relationships and the quality of our US client and placement data. What you'll be doing Coordinating the operational onboarding of new US clients and understanding their billing, invoicing, PO, compliance and placement requirements. Translating client requirements into our internal systems and processes and ensuring clear handovers to downstream teams. Reviewing new placements to make sure information is complete and accurate before they progress to contracting, payroll and billing. Working with Sales, clients and internal teams to resolve requirements that are incomplete, conflicting or difficult to facilitate. Constructively challenging requirements where needed and helping identify practical alternative solutions. Ensuring placement compliance requirements are completed, evidenced and maintained throughout active assignments. Managing relationships with local umbrella and payroll providers, including regular supplier reviews and compliance assurance. Monitoring purchase order utilisation, coordinating new or amended POs and ensuring they align with agreed placement and contractual requirements. Maintaining accurate Client, Candidate and Placement data for the US business. Acting as a local coordination point between the Dallas business and central support functions. Identifying recurring issues and working with relevant teams to improve processes and controls. Providing management information across placement quality, compliance, POs, supplier performance and data quality. What we're looking for This role would suit someone with experience in staffing or recruitment operations, contractor operations, client onboarding, placement or assignment management, compliance operations, payroll, billing or a similar operational environment. You’ll need: Minimum 1 year experience working in a compliance or adjacent type of position Strong commercial and operational awareness. The confidence to work directly with Sales, clients, suppliers and internal support teams. The ability to understand a client requirement and translate it into a workable operational process. Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to challenge when something doesn't look right or won't work. A practical approach to finding solutions while maintaining appropriate controls. Strong attention to detail and confidence working with systems and operational data. Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The ability to coordinate across different teams and take ownership of issues through to resolution. Experience within US staffing or contractor operations, particularly involving client onboarding, purchase orders, client invoicing, payroll providers or contractor compliance, would be useful. About the role This is a Specialist level position with a high degree of ownership and cross-functional interaction. It doesn't have line management responsibility, but you will be the local governance point for the US business and will need to be comfortable using your judgement, asking questions and constructively challenging where appropriate. The role is about more than checking that a process has been followed.
