Job Title Deployment Operations Specialist / Robotics Technician Job Description The Deployment Operations Specialist / Robotics Technician plays a key role in connecting customers, product teams, and engineering to ensure robotic systems consistently deliver value in the field. You will manage operational deployments from early concept through pilot phases, oversee daily operations at customer sites, and proactively resolve technical and operational challenges. This position blends hands‑on work with physical equipment, process development, and performance reporting, and is ideal for someone who combines strong technical aptitude with customer focus and operational discipline. Responsibilities Manage and execute operational projects from initial concept through pilot phases, including hands‑on testing, validation, and implementation of robotic systems. Coordinate closely with internal operational teams and external vendors to ensure smooth deployment and ongoing operation of robotic systems. Collaborate with internal teams to develop, document, and implement training programs for operational staff who support robotic deployments. Identify and propose practical solutions when encountering project blockers, escalating issues appropriately and driving them to resolution. Organize, track, and manage inventory stock in the lab for pilot programs and research and development testing, ensuring equipment and materials are available when needed. Oversee daily operations at customer locations, ensuring robotic systems function reliably, meet service expectations, and deliver consistent value. Compile, analyze, and present operational performance metrics, such as task success rates and system health indicators, for regular reviews with stakeholders. Use test equipment and follow test documentation to perform QA and equipment validation on physical products and robotic systems. Troubleshoot mechanical and robotic issues, working systematically to diagnose problems and implement corrective actions. Support offsite activities such as pilot testing and field trials, including transporting and setting up equipment and assisting with on‑site validation. Contribute to creating and refining standardized processes for new pilots and deployments, helping to scale operations as the organization grows. Adapt to changing priorities in a start‑up‑like environment and step into different operational tasks as needed, including working across multiple buildings and test sites. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience working in a testing environment for physical products or equipment. Hands‑on experience using test equipment and following test documentation for QA validation and equipment validation. Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical and robotic systems. Excellent organizational and structuring skills, including inventory management and documentation. Strong adaptability and willingness to work in a start‑up‑like environment where priorities can shift quickly. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and external partners. Ability to work across different buildings and environments that may not be temperature regulated. Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to drive a car when necessary. Additional Skills & Qualifications 1–2 years of experience in logistics or operations is preferred. Previous experience working as a project manager or supervisor in an operational or technical setting. Familiarity with technology and robotics in an operational environment. Experience compiling, analyzing, and presenting operational performance metrics. Comfort working with physical equipment, including lifting and handling components as part of testing and deployment activities. Work Environment This role is based on‑site in Austin, TX and primarily involves working in an R&D testing lab focused on pilot programs and standardization of new deployments. You will work hands‑on with physical robotic equipment, test tools, and inventory, and you will regularly support pilot and field testing at customer locations. The position may require occasional heavy lifting, including carrying boxes and equipment up to 40 lbs with assistance from another person. The work environment can include hot conditions and buildings that are not fully temperature regulated, and you should be comfortable working in these settings. The role may involve moving between different buildings and test sites as needed. There is potential for overtime, estimated at approximately 10–20 hours per week, especially during busy pilot and deployment periods. Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Austin, TX.
