- Perform comprehensive assessments for patients of all ages, employing both standardized procedures and observational approaches.
- Design tailored treatment strategies that cater to specific communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges, focusing on both immediate and long-term objectives.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions, emphasizing areas such as communication, language fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
- Work cohesively with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, family caregivers, and other professionals to formulate holistic care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and their families to promote progress and efficacy beyond clinical appointments.
- Conduct occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions in speech therapy, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout the patient journey.
- Keep diligent and timely records that comply with state, federal, and institutional standards.
- Engage in continuous education and collaborative learning with peers to remain updated on advancements within the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Fulfillment of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of beginning employment.
- Proficient in evidence-based practices for individuals of all ages, with keen insight into developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and various interdisciplinary teams.
- Capability to adjust therapeutic approaches to acknowledge and respect diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
