About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Acute Care for the Elderly – ACE Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13–26 weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (3x12 Hours, 7:00–19:30) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide telemetry-capable medical-surgical nursing care to hospitalized patients aged 65 and older on a 26-bed ACE unit
• Perform IV starts, blood product administration, and management of central, peripheral, and PICC lines
• Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias via remote telemetry and implement appropriate interventions
• Administer and manage heparin protocols in accordance with facility guidelines
• Apply geriatric-focused care principles to preserve cognitive and physical function and support return to pre-admission baseline
• Float to other units or campuses as needed based on census, limited to areas of documented competency

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license or valid multistate (Compact) RN license — no pending licenses accepted
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Ability to complete required pre-assignment modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a geriatric or ACE-designated unit
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary team care models focused on mobility, recovery, and length-of-stay reduction
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers accepted
