If you have AWS cloud security knowledge, cybersecurity fundamentals, and analytical problem-solving skills and are looking for your next career move, Job Description We are looking for a Cloud Security Analyst Intern to participate in a structured cybersecurity internship focused on evaluating, securing, monitoring, and improving a simulated AWS environment for a fictional client engagement. This position will be Part-Time and Remote . Only work authorizations that will not require sponsorship now or in the future will be considered. What You'll Do Perform identity and access management (IAM) and access control audits within a simulated AWS environment Conduct compute and network security assessments involving Amazon EC2, VPCs, and security groups Analyze cloud detection and monitoring capabilities using CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and AWS Config Identify security findings and implement remediation activities for identity and network security gaps Configure and evaluate data protection controls, encryption key management, and automated preventive guardrails Develop monitoring, alerting, and incident response readiness processes, including written runbooks Participate in incident response exercises and incident replay activities Create a compliance and governance control catalog mapped to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework Produce weekly written deliverables summarizing findings, recommendations, and remediation efforts Deliver a final capstone engagement report and executive summary for client leadership Participate in daily standups and incorporate feedback from Elysium staff Collaborate with the designated supervisor and mentor to review technical work and professional development progress What You'll Need Required: Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices Understanding of cloud computing concepts and AWS services Strong written communication skills and ability to create technical documentation Analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently in a remote environment Access to a reliable computer and internet connection Ability to participate in daily standups, weekly deliverables, and program evaluations Preferred: Coursework, certifications, projects, or hands-on experience related to AWS or cloud security Familiarity with IAM, networking, security monitoring, or incident response concepts Exposure to compliance frameworks such as NIST Experience creating technical reports, runbooks, or security documentation Interest in pursuing a career in cloud security, cybersecurity, or security operations Physical Demands Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc. #DNP Reasonable accommodation statement If you require a reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, completing any pre-employment testing, or otherwise participating in the employment selection process, please direct your inquiries to View email address on click.appcast.io or View phone number on click.appcast.io.
