Forklift Driver

Material HandlerThis role involves safely operating forklifts and overhead cranes to move, locate, and load large steel beams, while supporting daily shipping, receiving, and material handling activities in a manufacturing environment. The material handler ensures accurate unloading of trucks, checking in shipments, completing paperwork, organizing materials, and performing tasks such as deburring parts to keep production running smoothly and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesOperate sit-down forklifts to move, locate, and load large steel beams and other materials throughout the facility.Use overhead cranes to safely lift, transport, and position heavy steel components in designated areas.Unload trucks and receive incoming materials, ensuring all items are handled safely and efficiently.Check in shipments by verifying quantities, part numbers, and documentation against packing lists or other records.Complete required shipping and receiving paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.Organize and stage materials in the appropriate locations to support production and shipping schedules.Perform material handling tasks such as packing, staging, and preparing products for shipment.Deburr parts and perform basic finishing tasks to ensure materials meet production and quality requirements.Support general labor activities on the production floor as needed, including assisting with inventory and material flow.Maintain a clean and orderly work area, following safety procedures and company guidelines.Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure efficient material movement and minimize production delays.Essential SkillsAt least 2 years of manufacturing experience in a production environment.At least 2 years of sit-down forklift experience handling materials safely and efficiently.At least 2 years of material handling experience, including moving, staging, and organizing materials.At least 1 year of overhead crane experience, preferably with large or heavy materials.Experience with inventory-related tasks such as checking in shipments and organizing stock.Ability to perform general labor tasks in a manufacturing or production setting.Experience supporting shipping and related logistics activities.Comfort working with large steel beams and other heavy materials.Strong attention to safety and adherence to established procedures.Ability to complete paperwork accurately and follow basic documentation processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsAt least 1 year of shipping experience, including preparing and staging materials for outbound shipments.At least 1 year of experience in steel manufacturing or a similar heavy industrial environment.Experience with packing and production support tasks.Ability to adapt to changes in the facility and processes as improvements are implemented.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when handling materials and documentation.Why Work Here?You will join a company that is actively investing in its future and improving its facilities, offering the opportunity to grow with an organization that is committed to long-term development. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
