Welder I - 1st Shift

WelderAs a Welder you will be responsible for performing high mix/low volume manual TIG welding of Stainless Steel and Aluminium in a high-quality medical device manufacturing environment.Shift: Monday-Thursday 7:00am-4:30pm and Friday 7:00am-11:00amWhat You Will Do As A WelderSet-up and operate TIG welding equipment using prescribed methods and procedures to weld parts within acceptable tolerances and standards.Build weldments through manual layout and manual surface prep processes when required.Read and interpret welding blueprints including standard welding symbols, travelers, and other work instruction documents.Positions parts to be joined using fixtures and other holding or positioning devices.Use required measuring instruments and gages to check and ensure parts meet dimensional requirements.Assist in problem solving activities.Complies with all quality standards.The Experience, Skills And AbilitiesRequired:High School or GED1 year of Welding experience which may include a completed certified welding program.2 years of experience working in a solid metal fabrication / machining environment required.Other:Vocational/Technical-Completion of welding training programWelding experience in flux core, MIG, stick, carbon steel, preferred.Able to use prescribed manual processes in TIG welding of stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum.Able to read and interpret welding blueprints, including all standard welding symbols.Able to use precision measuring instruments and gages.Strong math and troubleshooting proficiency and basic computer skills.Basic welding inspection knowledge and conduct visual inspection.What STERIS OffersWe Value our employees and are committed to providing a comprehensive benefits package that supports your health, well-being, and financial future.Here is just a brief overview of what we offer:Market Competitive PayExtensive Paid Time Off and (9) added holidaysLong/short Term disability coverage401(k) with company matchMaternity & Paternal LeaveAdditional add-ons benefits/discounts for programs such as Pet InsuranceTuition Reimbursement and continues educations programsExcellent opportunities for advancement and stable long-term careerPay range for this opportunity is $22.34/hr - $24.28/hr.Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.
