Quality Technician

Richardson Oilseed Products U.S., a division of Richardson International, operates a state‑of‑the‑art oil packaging facility in Memphis, TN where it refines and packages one of the United States’ most recognized brands of canola and vegetable cooking oils, Wesson Oil. We currently have an opportunity for a Quality Technician at our Memphis, TN facility. Responsibilities Understand and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures and general workplace rules. Participate in the day‑to‑day health and safety program by working in a safe manner at all times, always using the required personal protective equipment. Ensure that authorized work is completed safely. Utilize required controls to prevent risk of exposure to hazards. Participate actively in incident investigations, training, and other health and safety initiatives. Report all unsafe acts and conditions and all incidents, near misses and workplace injuries/illnesses as per company procedure. Perform routine and non‑routine tests on in‑process samples, finished product, ingredients and manufacturing supplies. Compare test results and disseminate information as required. Perform special tests and projects related to the operation as required. Evaluate results and independently ensure accuracy before alerting supervisory and production personnel. Use, maintain, troubleshoot, and do minor repairs on standard laboratory apparatus for performing routine and non‑routine analyses. Compare test results with current specifications and advise supervisory and production personnel of problems and/or out‑of‑code situations. Make recommendations as to cause and resolution of problem. Follow inventory of necessary chemicals and equipment, make out orders for timely replacement or repair. Work with production on solutions to problems, including audit of quality performance by operators. Maintain high standard of cleanliness and housekeeping in the laboratory work area. Prepare standard solutions for running routine and non‑routine tests. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred. Minimum 3 years related work experience. Ability to read, write and speak fluent English. Basic computer skills. Ability to interpret graphs, read measurements and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
