For our ship teams we are looking for flexible, open minded and passionate 1st Navigation Officer for river Maine, Danube, and Rhine About the company Grand Circle Corporation is the largest U.S. provider of international vacations for Americans aged 50 and older. What sets GCC as an industry leader in travel and discovery are small group sizes, unsurpassed value and excellence and unique itineraries covered under three brands: Grand Circle Cruise Line, Overseas Adventure Travel and Grand Circle Travel. Responsibilities: Practicing GCCL valuesRelieving Captain in his absence and taking command if the Captain is incapacitatedEnsuring safe navigation during his watchMaintaining and upkeeping of the ship according to existing laws and regulationsEnsuring that cleanliness and condition of the sundeck, as well as pollution prevention measures, are being upheldDeploying and supervising nautical crewMaintaining and upkeeping of the safety and firefighting equipmentProviding safety training and familiarizationIssuing ‘Permits to Work” as requiredCooperating with hospitality department as well as company’s regional officesAny other duties advised by Nautical and Technical Superintendent or Captain Skills/Qualifications: Holding Rhine license and preferable Danube as well; Sufficient experience in the field of desired position, preferably on the river cruise ship; Proven leadership abilities and excellent communication skills; Fluency in English and German; Eligibility to work in EU; What we offer: What we offer: • Compensation o Competitive Gross monthly salary: 3.100 – 5.590 EUR, including base pay and potential additional earning such as bonuses, depending on experience and internal pay structure • Benefits o Swiss contract with health insurance and pension plan o child insurance o private medical insurance coverage o tips customarily provided by U.S. travelers o incentive program o paid vacation: rotation 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off o eligibility to Company’s travel deals o travel expenses fully refunded o onboard internet access without usage limits o free shore excursions o special discounts in the on-board shop o access to gym and wellness area o 50 % discount on onboard massages o laundry service (uniforms and personal clothing) Place of work: European Union
