Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Theater Manager) Temp PT – 6825 Location: Kodiak, AK. Type: Temporary part‑time (20–29 hrs). Salary: $27.00–$30.00 per hour. Expiration: 31 May 2029. Duties Responsible for the overall management and direction of the 400‑seat movie theater on Base Kodiak. Plan and promote the theater, schedule and order movies, schedule use for training and all‑hands events, negotiate agreements with the Navy Motion Picture Service, and prepare publicity releases in support of the movie theater. Oversee all equipment, maintenance and take appropriate action to correct all maintenance problems. Supervise and train employees, plan work schedules, appraise performances, counsel assigned personnel, and recommend personnel actions. Prepare and submit annual operating budget requirements for appropriate and non‑appropriate funds. Direct operations of a short‑order concession stand, order inventory through vendors, prepare items for retail sale, conduct monthly and spot inventories, reconcile daily sales receipts, and make deposits. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Professional knowledge of movie theater operations acquired through formal education or combination of education and experience. Knowledge of operation and maintenance of theater equipment. Work experience supervising support staff. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office. Preferred: Three years’ experience demonstrating professional knowledge of movie theater operations, retail, supervising support staff, and personnel procedures.
