Job Title: Analyst, Clearing & Settlements Summary Integrated Portfolio Services at Northern Trust is a rapidly expanding global fund administrator supporting complex hedge fund clientele. The Clearing & Settlements team manages trade lifecycle functions, including trade capture, affirmation, break resolution, event processing, and settlement. Key Duties and Responsibilities Manage multiple customers and business lines within a fast‑paced, challenging environment. Liaison between clients’ trading desks and their prime brokers, exchanges, and counterparties to ensure timely settlement and efficient resolution of identified breaks. Perform and oversee all processes related to daily trade break resolution for equity products (stocks, ETFs, warrants), fixed‑income products (corporate, government, mortgage bonds), and exchange‑traded derivatives (options and futures). Monitor trade posting processes and upload trades to prime brokers. Monitor trade affirmation processes to ensure proper allocation/delivery from counterparties. Resolve failing trades with prime brokers and counterparties to facilitate delivery. Communicate effectively with team members to provide excellent service to clients. Collaborate with the Reconciliation & Control team to ensure the accuracy of internal books and records. Build and maintain internal and external relationships. Perform other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field. Experience with exchange‑traded securities and settlement operations (preferred, not required). Familiarity with DTC, SWIFT, Global and Central Trade Manager (preferred, not required). Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Bloomberg experience is a plus. Excellent attention to detail, written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines in time‑sensitive conditions. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and familiarity with financial markets and instruments. Self‑accountability and a passion for high‑quality client service. Physical Demands and Work Environment The role requires clear, thorough communication with co‑workers, clients, and vendors. The range represents a good‑faith estimate and is not a guarantee of final compensation.
