This role is responsible for developing complex civil engineering designs, preparing technical calculations and reports, supporting construction administration, and ensuring the quality and completeness of project deliverables.The ideal candidate has strong land development design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and the ability to solve complex engineering problems independently while providing technical guidance to junior staff.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop civil engineering designs based on project constraints, site conditions, agency standards, project objectives, and engineering best practicesPrepare complex grading designs and earthwork calculationsPerform calculations involving hydrology, hydraulics, water quality, stormwater detention, and utility sizingPrepare technical reports, construction plans, calculations, and supporting documentationSupport construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and construction changesConduct detailed QA/QC reviews of engineering plans and deliverablesConfirm that project deliverables are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable requirementsIndependently solve complex engineering and land development design problemsTrain, mentor, and provide technical assistance to junior engineering staffCoordinate with project managers, technical managers, clients, agencies, and other project stakeholdersRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related disciplineFive to seven years of civil engineering experience, depending on previous land development design experienceMinimum of two years independently solving complex land development engineering problemsStrong land development design experienceProficiency in AutoCAD and either Land Development Desktop or Civil 3DActive Engineer-in-Training certificationExperience with grading, drainage, utilities, hydrology, hydraulics, water quality, and stormwater designExperience preparing technical reports and complex engineering calculationsStrong communication, organization, technical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyU.S. citizenship requiredPreferred QualificationsActive Professional Engineer licenseExperience supporting construction administrationExperience training or mentoring junior engineering staffExperience conducting formal QA/QC reviewsCompensation and BenefitsAnnual salary of $95,000–$120,000, depending on experience and qualificationsEmployee Stock Ownership Program401(k) with company matchDiscretionary bonusesFlexible schedule with half-day FridaysHybrid work option after the first 90 daysMedical, dental, vision, and flexible spending account optionsLife, accidental death and dismemberment, and long-term disability coveragePaid time off and holidaysProfessional training, mentorship, and development supportQualified candidates with strong land development design experience and an active EIT certification are encouraged to apply.
