Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Tarrytown, NY | Compensation: $55,000-$65,000
A growing construction company is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their accounting team. This is a great opportunity for an organized accounting professional with strong AR and collections experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounts receivable activities, including invoicing and cash applications
- Process customer payments and maintain accurate account records
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on past-due accounts
- Perform account reconciliations and research payment discrepancies
- Prepare AR reports and assist with month-end close
- Communicate with customers regarding invoices, payments, and account questions
- Collaborate with project managers and internal teams to resolve billing issues
- Assist with other accounting duties as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of accounts receivable or general accounting experience
- Construction or project-based industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience with billing, collections, and account reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience with construction accounting software is a plus
