Role: Trademark Paralegal

Location: Midtown Manhattan

Salary: $100K - $145K

Schedule: Hybrid! 9;30am - 5:30pm

Prominent, mid-sized law firm located in the heart of Manhattan is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Trademark Paralegal to support its busy legal team handling domestic and international trademark matters. This role involves managing filings throughout the trademark lifecycle, coordinating with clients and counsel, and helping keep prosecution and maintenance activities on track. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to balance accuracy with deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage U.S. and international trademark filings from initial submission through prosecution, renewals, recordations, and ownership updates.

• Monitor docket activity, track deadlines, and compile status reports to support attorneys and client needs.

• Communicate with clients, foreign associates, and internal legal teams regarding filing requirements, deadlines, and next steps for trademark matters.

• Prepare draft responses to office actions and develop related correspondence for attorney review.

• Examine trademark specimens and supporting materials to help confirm compliance with filing standards.

• Conduct legal and factual research related to trademark matters and ongoing proceedings.

• Provide administrative support through data entry, invoice coordination, deposit account oversight, and monitoring of rule or practice updates.

• Assemble and submit documents for Trademark Trial and Appeal Board matters, including oppositions and cancellations.

• Coordinate notarization, obtain corporate charter documents, and arrange legalization of materials for use in U.S. and international matters.

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable relevant experience in a paralegal or legal support capacity.
• At least five years of experience supporting trademark or broader intellectual property matters.
• Previous law firm experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent organizational skills with a consistent focus on accuracy, follow-through, and client service.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate well across teams and with external contacts.
