We’re now seeking a Business Development Associate to join our team and help us grow relationships with restaurants, grocery stores, distributors, retailers, and specialty food customers across the country. About the Role This is an entry-level role designed for someone who is curious, motivated, and excited to learn a new industry from the ground up. Prior sales experience is helpful, but not required. We are looking for someone who wants to understand how the food and agriculture business works — from production and inventory to customer relationships, order fulfillment, and long-term sales growth. At Heritage, we believe strong sales starts with strong product knowledge. In this role, you will receive hands-on training to understand our products, customers, operations, pricing, order process, and the unique value of Berkshire pork. Over time, you will use that knowledge to support customers, follow up with leads, build relationships, and help grow our business. Responsibilities Calling and following up with sales leads Responding to customer emails, questions, and order inquiries Supporting customers across wholesale, restaurant, grocery, retail, distributor, and specialty food channels Learning product specifications, pricing, inventory availability, and customer needs Working closely with the sales and production teams to help fulfill customer orders Coordinating order details, production timing, inventory updates, and shipping information Maintaining customer notes, order records, spreadsheets, and sales information Assisting with new customer outreach and account development Helping identify opportunities to better serve existing customers Learning how different parts of the business connect, from agriculture and production to sales and fulfillment Supporting the team with other sales, customer service, and business development projects as needed What We’re Looking For We are open to entry-level candidates and recent graduates. More than a specific background, we are looking for someone with the right attitude: curious, dependable, organized, and willing to learn. The ideal candidate is someone who: Wants to learn the food, meat, agriculture, or wholesale business Asks plenty of questions and enjoys understanding how things work Is organized, detail-oriented, and reliable Communicates professionally by phone and email Is comfortable working with customers and internal team members Can learn product details, pricing, and order information Enjoys working in a team-oriented environment Is willing to take on new responsibilities as the company grows Has a positive attitude and a strong desire to improve Helpful but not required: Experience in sales, customer service, agriculture, food, restaurants, retail, or business A degree or coursework in business, agriculture, marketing, communications, animal science, food science, or a related field Strong Excel, spreadsheet, or basic math skills Ability to speak multiple languages Why Join Heritage Pork International?
