Telemetry Technician-Sharp Memorial Hospital-Night Shift-Full Time

Hours & Shift Shift Start Time: 7 PM | Shift End Time: 7:30 AM | AWS Hours Requirement: 12/36 - 12 Hour Shift | Weekend Requirements: Every Other | On-Call Required: No Compensation Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $25.55 - $31.86 - $35.68 Union & Employment Terms This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with SEIU-UHW. Employees in this role are required to join the union within 31 days of hire and remain a member for the duration of the collective bargaining agreement. The position will be posted for 7 days internally (06/03/2026‑06/10/2026) and is available only to existing members of the ratified SEIU Bargaining Unit with a contract expiration date of 09/30/2027. What You Will Do This position will perform duties set forth by the organization to support patient monitoring needs, including monitoring and interpreting patients' cardiac rhythms, continuous oxygen saturations, and/or end tidal carbon dioxide monitoring, and reporting life‑threatening arrhythmias, decreased oxygen saturations, or abnormal carbon dioxide levels to appropriate personnel. Communicates with patients and staff to ensure needs are met, facilitates patient data management through accurate documentation and communication, and supports optimal use of resources in managing equipment and supplies. Essential Functions Admissions, discharges and transfers: Expedite patient flow by communicating patient data pertinent to the A/D/T process, entering accurate disposition, maintaining Central Telemetry Log, assisting teammates, and organizing telemetry rhythm data. Arrhythmia Interpretation: Identify and report cardiac and respiratory monitoring assessment data, interpret EKG per competency, recognize changes and trends in rhythms, communicate abnormal values, maintain telemetry records, and document arrhythmias for electronic record updates. Customer Service and Teamwork: Respond to customer needs via phone and in person using AIDET, obtain visitor information, direct and take messages, answer calls within four rings, support interdisciplinary team, and assist during crisis interventions. Data Entry and Inquiry: Accurately enter data into central monitoring system, ensure patient placement within 30 minutes of admission, verify DNR status, and maintain data entry standards. Department Efficiency and Effectiveness: Maximize operational efficiency, prioritize tasks, order supplies, maintain equipment function, troubleshoot, and log telemetry boxes. Central Monitoring Unit Management: Set up, troubleshoot, and operate cardiac monitoring system; set alarms, review histories; ensure pacemaker detection; print ECG and arrhythmia trends. Unit Safety: Apply proper body mechanics, report equipment issues, document personal injuries within two hours, follow safety procedures, report hazards, and comply with universal precautions and infection control policies.
