Operator - Sugar Shelling (3rd Shift)

Our mission is to create a pleasurable eating experience for our customers by offering high quality confections and snacks while maintaining an unrelenting commitment to excellence.ROLE SUMMARYThe Sugar Shelling Machine Operator role is responsible for driving Georgia Nut Company's (GNC) manual sugar shelling conventional panning process in order to create high quality finished good while striving for continuous improvement. The role will work with the operations team to run the shelling equipment in accordance with customer specifications, while maintaining GNCs 5s, completing the proper paperwork, reporting inefficiencies, keeping accurate inventory, adhering to GNC general manufacturing practices (GMPs), and following GNCs sanitation and safety protocols.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESReport food and quality issues as well as employee safety to their supervisor.Follow allergen procedures and perform sanitation steps as trainedFollow all formulas and customer specifications as described in the billing of materialsMeet/exceed efficiencies while communicating inefficiencies (down time)Document all production, quality, safety, and sanitation reports accurately and clearlyClock/tag in and out of proper departments as requiredStart, stop, adjust, and operate machine using approved methods, supervisor/lead when repairs or adjustments are beyond the scope of their expertiseTrain and assist other employees as neededPresent continuous improvement ideas to supervisor or department leadMaintain 5s by keeping work area clean and organizedValidate transfers, consume correctly, and keep accurate inventoryFollow all general manufacturing practices (GMPs) and comply with GNC policies and procedures.Report scrap according to procedure and always run retain if neededPerform other duties as assigned by supervisor/leadPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust wear proper personal protective equipment including uniform, face mask, hair net, latex gloves, bump cap, earplugs, and safety shoesWill be standing on concrete, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning for an extended period of timeMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsRequired to work weekends during peak season and/or overtime when neededKNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or GEDExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be well-organized with high attention to detailAbility to successfully prioritize workloadThe ability to perform basic math and reading skills, such as: reading labels, formulas, and directions.Ability to perform basic Knowledge of measurement, percentages, and ratios.Ability to communicate and write effectively in EnglishFlexible working hours for a seven-day operationDependable and adaptable to a fast pace work environment #J-18808-Ljbffr Georgia Nut Company
