Investment Banking Analyst

Overview Our client, a boutique investment bank that specializes in biotech and life sciences is seeking either an Investment Banking Analyst 1 or Analyst 2. Responsibilities The Investment Banking Analyst role is a full-time, on-site position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. Candidate needs experience in biotech or life sciences. The analyst will support deal execution and advisory engagements by building detailed financial models, conducting company and industry research, and preparing pitch books and client presentations. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing valuation analyses, assisting with due diligence, organizing data rooms, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves monitoring market developments, analyzing financial statements, and contributing to the preparation of marketing materials and transaction documentation. This position offers exposure to a broad range of transactions and a fast-paced environment requiring strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work. Qualifications Strong finance and investment banking skills, including understanding of capital markets, valuation methods, and transaction structures. Experience in the sciences. Advanced financial modeling capabilities, with proficiency in Excel and the ability to build and maintain complex models. Excellent analytical skills and due diligence experience, including financial statement analysis, industry research, and data interpretation. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; advanced coursework or certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus. Proficiency in presentation and documentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Word) and comfort preparing professional client materials. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to internal teams and clients. Ability to work on-site in the New York City Metropolitan Area, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
