Position Summary

The Scheduler coordinates customer installations by developing weekly schedules, estimating installation timeframes, mapping project locations, and communicating with customers and contractors to support a smooth installation process.

This position also oversees repair scheduling throughout the Southeast territory, ensuring repair requests are reviewed, processed, and scheduled promptly and efficiently.

The Scheduler builds and maintains relationships with contractors and identifies the most appropriate contractor for each installation or repair based on location, availability, experience, and project requirements.

This role also supports customers by answering questions, providing accurate updates, investigating concerns, and coordinating solutions. The primary goal is to maintain efficient scheduling, dependable contractor relationships, and a high level of customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Learn Northedge Steel’s products, materials, construction methods, and installation processes.
• Schedule 40 or more installation jobs per week based on location, project size, complexity, contractor availability, and customer readiness.
• Estimate installation timeframes and organize efficient installation routes.
• Map project locations and group installations to support effective travel and resource planning.
• Oversee and schedule all repair requests throughout the Southeast territory.
• Review repair requests and confirm that all required information is available before scheduling.
• Select and assign appropriate contractors based on project needs, location, experience, and availability.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with contractors and installation crews.
• Confirm installation schedules and project details with customers and contractors.
• Communicate schedule changes, delays, concerns, and updates promptly.
• Answer customer questions regarding building specifications, installation expectations, and project schedules.
• Respond professionally to customer questions, complaints, and installation concerns.
• Investigate issues and coordinate with the appropriate internal departments to find solutions.
• Provide appropriate solutions or alternatives within company guidelines and follow up to confirm resolution.
• Collaborate with contractors, installers, leadership, and internal departments to improve scheduling and customer service.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of schedules, repairs, customer interactions, contractor communication, and project updates.
• Update project statuses and notes in company systems.
• Follow established communication procedures, departmental guidelines, and company policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in scheduling, dispatching, logistics, customer service, construction, or project coordination.
• Experience working with contractors, installers, or field crews.
• Experience in the metal-building, construction, manufacturing, or home-improvement industry.
• Experience coordinating multiple jobs across a large geographic territory.
• Familiarity with CRM, ERP, scheduling, routing, or project-management systems.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This is primarily an office-based position. The employee may be required to:

• Sit and work at a computer for extended periods.

• Work in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
• Occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, or lift office materials.
• Occasionally enter production or shop areas while wearing required personal protective equipment.
