C-Store Staff/ Overnight Shift

The C-Store Staff is responsible to cook and prepare food, clean, stock and organize kitchen and related areas in adherence to all Company Policy/Store standards and providing Star treatment to all customers and compliance with overall policies and procedures of the Lucky Star Travel Center.

Work Schedule:

• Requires morning, afternoons, evenings. Monday through Sunday, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Request to be scheduled off for a specific day requires advance notification and approval by supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that each Guest receives outstanding friendly Guest Service by providing a Guest friendly environment which includes, assisting customers, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge, and all other components of cooking and food preparation.
• Maintain and reconcile cash drawer.
• Operate assigned equipment including large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers and ovens, and registers safely and efficiently.
• Maintain sanitation, food safety, health and safety standards in kitchen and work areas.
• Responsible for maintaining inventory stock.
• Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring Kitchen and food preparation stock.
• Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices including but not limited to housekeeping, customer service and loss prevention.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of all food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils, and all areas of C-Store.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
• Ability to cook the exact number of items ordered by each customer while working on several different orders simultaneously.
• Assist in creating a safe environment for the Store and Deli.
• Ability to take and read food order slips and to prepare and cook food according to instructions.
• Ability to order and take delivery of supplies in accordance with company policy.
• Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
• Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and kitchen area.
• Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to work in the kitchen area.
• Ability to follow Management direction accurately and effectively.
• Greet guests and co-workers in a professional, friendly manner while exhibiting STAR treatment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Job Requirements:

• Stand continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with lunch break.
• Requires bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, lifting and pulling.
• Move objects up to and exceeding 25lbs. with reasonable accommodations.

Qualification Standards:

• Must pass pre-employment drug test
• Must be able to acquire and maintain ABLE license
• Must be able to acquire and maintain food handlers permit
• High School Diploma and/or equivalent retail experience
• Basic mathematical skills
• Computer literate
• Basic verbal and written communication skills
