PRN - MEDICAL OFFICE SPECIALIST

Medical Office Specialist - PRN Manatee Memorial Hospital is seeking a Medical Office Specialist to support clinical and non‑clinical responsibilities Monday through Friday, daylight hours only, with no nights or weekends. This position will cover front‑desk duties including registration, check‑in, collecting co‑pays, scheduling appointments, billing patients, and scanning records into the EMR, reports, and correspondence. The role requires medical terminology knowledge, strong organization and communication skills, flexibility, professionalism, and discretion. It demands a calm disposition, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, and reliability. Office locations are Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, and Sarasota. Responsibilities Front‑desk coverage for the medical practice, including:

• Registration and patient check‑in
• Collecting co‑pays
• Scheduling appointments
• Billing patients
• Scanning records into EMR
• Generating reports and preparing correspondence.

Qualifications Minimum one year of medical or related experience (preferred) Reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfills obligations consistently Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, office systems, and terminology Proficiency with electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including needs assessment, quality standards, and evaluation of satisfaction Experience in data entry, customer service, collections, and medical terminology (preferred) High‑school graduate or equivalent (required); completed Medical Office Assistant/Specialist program or Medical Assistant program (preferred) EEO Statement All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
