Job Description & Performance Expectations

POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Fitness Director (AFD) is a key leadership position responsible for driving personal training
revenue, delivering an exceptional member experience, developing high-performing trainers, and executing
operational excellence within the Fitness Department. Working in partnership with the Fitness Director and
General Manager, the AFD is expected to lead by example, coach team members, and contribute to the overall
success and profitability of the club.

This role requires a results-driven leader with strong sales ability, a passion for developing others, exceptional
organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering best-in-class member service.

WORK SCHEDULE
The Assistant Fitness Director is expected to work during peak business hours to maximize member
engagement, sales opportunities, and team development.

Required Schedule
• Monday – Thursday
○ Morning Shift: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (or 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM based on club needs)
○ Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM (or 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM based on club needs)
• Friday & Saturday
○ 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (or 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM based on club needs)
Schedule flexibility may be required based on business needs, special events, or staffing demands.

KEY PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS (KPIs)
Sales & Revenue Performance
The Assistant Fitness Director is expected to consistently achieve the following minimum performance
standards:
• Generate a minimum of $3,500 in new recurring Personal Training EFT each month
• Achieve 100% of Weekly Key Deliverables (WKDs)
• Attain 100% of assigned monthly Personal Training revenue goals
• Maintain Attrition at 10% and below
• Generate consistent referral opportunities and contribute to overall department growth
• Execute all company sales systems and follow-up processes with urgency and consistency

Member Experience & Sales Conversion
The Assistant Fitness Director is responsible for delivering an exceptional member onboarding experience while
maintaining the following performance metrics:
• 70% Kickoff Appointment Set Rate
• 40% Fitness Assessment Completion Rate
• 40% Personal Training Close Rate
Success in this role requires consistent execution of the member journey while creating long-term relationships
that improve member retention and results.
Leadership & Team Development
The Assistant Fitness Director serves as a coach and mentor to the Personal Training team by:
• Providing daily coaching and accountability
• Assisting with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and trainer development
• Conducting floor coaching and observation sessions
• Developing trainers in sales, service, programming, and retention
• Leading by example through professionalism, energy, and execution
• Supporting a positive, high-performance culture focused on member success

Operational Excellence & Compliance
The Assistant Fitness Director is responsible for maintaining operational standards that support a safe,
organized, and compliant department.

Expectations include:
• Compliance with our uniform policy - crunch polo, black pants or shorts & crunch nametag
• Maintain 100% compliance with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
• Maintain 100% Enhance compliance
• Ensure timely completion and accuracy of all administrative tasks
• Maintain accurate member documentation and training records
• Execute all audits, reporting, and required operational processes
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional fitness department
• Protect company assets while promoting a safe environment for members and team members

Coaching & Client Servicing Expectations
The primary responsibility of the Assistant Fitness Director is leadership and business development.
Accordingly:
• Client servicing is limited to no more than 5 personal training clients
• Remaining scheduled hours should be dedicated to sales, coaching, member engagement, trainer
development, operational execution, and department growth
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drive Personal Training sales and revenue growth
• Deliver exceptional member consultations and Kickoff appointments
• Engage members daily to create meaningful relationships and generate referrals
• Coach trainers through live observations, role-playing, and performance reviews
• Ensure consistent execution of company sales processes
• Support hiring, onboarding, and trainer development initiatives
• Maintain operational excellence and compliance standards
• Collaborate with club leadership to achieve monthly business objectives
• Foster a positive, energetic, and member-focused fitness culture
