The Mission
As the Chef for Inspiration Brewing Company’s second location, you are responsible for the heart of the house. You will lead a team to deliver consistent, high-quality "Irish Pub Fare" that complements our craft beer lineup. You are an expert in kitchen efficiency, food safety, and labor management, working hand-in-hand with the GM to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Core Responsibilities1. Culinary Execution & Quality Control
- Consistency: Ensure every dish leaving the window meets Inspiration Brewing’s standards for taste, temperature, and presentation.
- Menu Management: Execute the core menu and develop "Weekly Features" (Irish specialties) that drive repeat business.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a "Health-Department-Ready" kitchen at all times. Lead the team in food safety (ServSafe) and sanitation.
2. Financial Stewardship (The Bottom Line)
- Food Cost: Manage inventory, minimize waste, and work with vendors to keep food costs within the 28%–32% range.
- Labor Management: Create BOH schedules that align with projected volume, ensuring the kitchen is staffed for the Late August or Early September 2026 opening rush without overspending.
- Inventory: Conduct weekly physical inventory counts and manage ordering to ensure we never run out of staples.
3. Leadership & Training
- Team Building: Recruit, hire, and train a crew of BOH staff.
- The GM Partnership: Communicate clearly with the GM regarding 86'ed items, ticket times, and staff performance.
- Mentorship: Foster a positive "No-Drama" kitchen culture where line cooks are encouraged to grow.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years as a Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager in a high-volume, scratch-kitchen environment.
- Skill Set: Expert-level knowledge of scratch line cooking (fry, sauté, grill, and expo).
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage a team of people during high-stress shifts.
- Logistics: Proficiency in food ordering software and basic spreadsheets.

We are looking for a "Working Chef"—someone who leads from the line, not from an office. You should have a passion for pub culture and the ability to train staff who may have limited experience. If you can stay calm during a 120-seat dinner rush and still find time to high-five the dishwasher, you’re our person.
