Senior Business Analyst

- 8+ years of experience eliciting requirements through customer interviews and documenting clear system requirements.
- 8+ years of experience working across software development life cycles (SDLCs).
- 8+ years of experience in business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement.
- 8+ years of experience developing user stories and use cases aligned with business analysis best practices.
- 8+ years of experience designing mockups and wireframes aligned with UX best practices.
- 8+ years of demonstrated communication and facilitation skills.
- 8+ years of demonstrated writing and organizational skills.
- 4+ years of documented experience using Atlassian Jira for issue tracking.
- 4+ years of documented experience working for or closely with TEA, a federal/state/local education agency, or an education vendor.
- 3+ years of documented experience using Modern Requirements for requirements management.
- 2+ years of experience supporting complaint and case management workflows, including intake, investigation, and resolution.
- 2+ years of experience with educator certification processes, federal/state grant programs, or state funding programs.
- Perform senior-level business analysis for multiple projects involving major system enhancements or rewrites that support improved outcomes for Texas students.
- Serve as the liaison between program stakeholders, customers, and software development teams throughout the SDLC.
- Elicit requirements through JAD sessions, workshops, interviews, document reviews, surveys, site visits, storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.
- Analyze user needs, business processes, operational challenges, and system capabilities to identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
- Develop clear business and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, and software requirements specifications using standard templates.
- Create process flows, context diagrams, UML diagrams, wireframes, and mockups to communicate requirements.
- Establish and maintain requirements baselines, specifications, traceability, and status tracking.
- Manage deadlines, follow change control procedures, and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Verify that delivered solutions meet requirements and manage requirements for post-implementation enhancements.
- Apply initiative and independent judgment to coordinate business analysis activities across the project lifecycle.
