Senior Director of Membership Growth and Engagement

Position Overview This position would lead NCFA's efforts to recruit, engage, serve, and retain member organizations and individuals, as well as grow and maintain subscriptions to NCFA's learning management system. The role would combine business development and sales responsibilities with relationship management, customer service, and ongoing member engagement. The position would help strengthen NCFA's relationships with adoption service providers and other members while identifying opportunities to increase membership, engagement, subscriptions, and related revenue. Key Responsibilities Establishing annual membership, retention, subscription, and revenue goals. Develop and implement strategies to retain and grow NCFA's membership as well as subscriptions to the learning management system. Identify and cultivate prospective member agencies, organizations, and individuals. Clearly communicate NCFA's value proposition and guide prospective members through the recruitment and enrollment process. Build strong relationships with current members and serve as a responsive point of contact. Develop a structured approach to member onboarding, engagement, renewal, and retention. Regularly assess member needs, satisfaction, and priorities and use that information to improve services and benefits. Work with staff to connect members with relevant education, advocacy, research, networking, and other resources. Manage membership outreach, renewal communications, records, and related administrative processes. Track membership recruitment, retention, engagement, and revenue data. Represent NCFA at conferences, meetings, webinars, and other opportunities to engage current and prospective members. Help identify and develop new member benefits, services, partnerships, and revenue opportunities. Support broader agency-relations activities and help NCFA remain connected to the needs of adoption service providers. Bringing member intelligence into NCFA's organizational strategy. Collaboration & Relationships Internal: President and CEO and NCFA staff, including staff responsible for education, advocacy, research, communications, operations, and events. External: Current and prospective member agencies, adoption attorneys, organizations and individuals, learning management system subscribers, partners, and other adoption service providers and stakeholders. Qualifications Seven or more years of experience in membership, business development, association management, customer success, sales, or stakeholder engagement, including responsibility for growth or retention goals. Demonstrated success meeting membership, subscription, sales, retention, or revenue goals. Strong relationship-management and customer-service skills. Experience using a CRM, association-management system, or comparable database. Ability to analyze membership and revenue data and translate it into action. Experience with associations, professional membership organizations, adoption service providers, or learning products preferred. Ability and willingness to travel periodically to conferences and member meetings. Experience with child welfare, adoption, family policy, or a related field preferred.
