Step into a pivotal educational support role and make a profound impact by providing mental health services in a specialized middle and high school environment. This contract opportunity is tailored for a skilled school psychologist or school social worker who is committed to supporting students with intense behavioral and emotional needs.
In this rewarding position, you'll be working on-site with Meridian Academy's team, supporting students in grades 6–12 who require a separate setting due to complex behavioral challenges. Meridian Academy offers a unique environment where your expertise will help approximately 23–30 students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Current CDE authorization as a School Psychologist or School Social Worker (CO DOE SSP license)
- Demonstrated experience supporting middle and high school students with severe behavioral and/or social-emotional challenges
- Familiarity working in facility-type placements, day treatment, or similar specialized programs
- Strong capability in IEP processes, including evaluations, meetings, and development
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with educational teams and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct mental health and behavioral interventions to students per their IEPs
- Conduct comprehensive student evaluations and participate in IEP meetings
- Partner with staff to develop individualized behavioral plans and strategies
- Track student progress and document services
- Maintain compliance with credentialing, background checks, and fingerprinting protocols
This contract position offers immediate placement—allowing you to start making a difference right away—working a consistent 37.5 hours per week at one dedicated campus. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a seasoned team and contribute to an essential, life-changing program.
