This contract position plays a vital role in supporting Meridian Academy, a specialized program catering to grades 6–12 with significant behavioral and social-emotional needs. The ideal professional will deliver direct mental health services, collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, and manage IEP-related tasks from evaluation through development and meetings. The student caseload is currently 23 and may grow to 30 at maximum capacity, offering a focused environment to drive real impact.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid CO DOE SSP (Special Service Provider) License, endorsed as either a School Psychologist or School Social Worker
- Experience working with students in grades 6–12 with intensive behavioral or social/emotional needs (facility placements, day treatment settings, or similar environments preferred)
- Ability to start as soon as possible and commit through the end of the academic year (5/27/27)
- Readiness to complete district-specific background checks and fingerprinting as part of onboarding
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct mental health and behavioral support aligned with students’ IEPs
- Collaborate actively with program staff to deliver comprehensive interventions and support social-emotional development
- Conduct IEP evaluations, participate in IEP meetings, and assist in the development of IEPs for assigned students
- Serve as a key resource for school teams and families regarding student needs and progress
