Accounting Assistant - Japanese Bilingual

Accounting Assistant
A leading Japanese food manufacturer is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant with 4 years of experience in finance and accounting. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting functions and supports daily operations while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries in a timely and accurate manner
- Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decision-making
- Provide support during internal and external audits
- Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis
- Perform profitability analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Handle day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- 4 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP
- Experience with accounting systems such as SAP and QuickBooks
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Business-level proficiency in English and Japanese (both written and verbal)
