Registered Nurse - Cardiac and Stroke Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, with every other weekend required.

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our busy Cardiac and Stroke Unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in telemetry, IV management, and caring for cardiac patients, including pre and post-procedural care. This unit is fast-paced, with a high daily turnover of patients, and requires keen adaptability and resilience.

Responsibilities:

• Provide stable pre/postoperative care for patients undergoing pacemaker implantation, cardiac catheterization, and other cardiac procedures.
• Manage various medications and cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone.
• Monitor patient vitals and telemetry, interpreting dysrhythmias effectively.
• Participate in the care and management of COVID-positive patients as needed.
• Assist with admissions and discharges, maintaining efficient patient flow.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy and respiratory services.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a high acuity setting.
• Current RN license (NC or Compact) required.
• Certifications in ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS are required.
• Experience with telemetry and cardiac care is essential.
